We enjoy the Sunday prime rib dinners, and you can select any dessert on the menu. We made reservations for Feb 13 because I like the special Valentine's menu over the Winter Prix Fixe (not to mention you'll walk away with a $25 gift card).
I went to the Palo Alto location last week. It's in the Stanford shopping center. The restaurant itself is pretty big and new.
I think the Price Fixe menu is still pretty good value. The Filet Mignon is smaller than their regular offering, but quality is definitiely there. However when eaten with the soup/salad, side, and dessert, I was very full (I'm a 27 year old guy).
I agree that the cookie desert was ok, but nothing special.
