Thanks both for the input. Flight out of SIN is to BKK and then on to LHR. We do have a couple of nights in Singapore on the outbound flights earlier in the month, so I'm not too worried about sightseeing - we'll probably leave the Asian Civilisations Museum to do on the way back.

By the way, I live in London, so I'm used to having no seat on public transport .
