Well spotted. Looks like three buses that run in the evening from ITM to several hotels in Kyoto - and the Westin is the last stop on the route. No connections required.

OP could use one of these three buses on arrival at ITM. It would be a long day, but not too complicated. The benefit would be that he could then base himself in Kyoto for the Kansai part of his stay...
