If OP wants to go to the Kyoto Westin on the day he arrives, he's looking at a somewhat longer trip. Bus / train to Kyoto and then taxi to Westin. Whether the OP wants to deal with that after his transpac and domestic flight is up to him. It's certainly doable. But Japan's Starwood properties are really not located in the most accessible places...
