Hotel options are either to stay in the city, but then have to wake very early on the third day to travel to Changi, or to stay 2 nights in the T3 Crowne Plaza and use the MRT into the city on the middle day.

Does anyone have any opinions as to the better option? The Changi option is more convenient for our flight home, but has the increased hassle of the MRT. That said, it is reasonably priced and gets decent reviews...
Why not do both. Spend the first night in the city, request a late check-out, spend second night at the Crowne Plaza. I had no trouble using the MRT to Changi, although others on FT prefer to just take a taxi. The MRT is air conditioned, but you probably won't get a seat at rush hour.
