Well I thought so too, but unfortunately...

In the middle of a pretty diappointing stay at this hotel right now (Starwood seems to be on a roll for me this year when it comes to disappointments...)

First off, the sweet sleeper beds have been replaced by some kind of foam mattress which is appallingly uncomfortable (and I speak as someone who can sleep pretty much anywhere). There is no support and you get the sensation of lying on quicksand, a horrible sinking feeling. We both slept on the floor last night, something I do not find acceptable at a $140 a night hotel, especially given the cheaper Four Points up the road as a more comfortable alternative. Apparently this is the same in all rooms. Really, really bad.

As others have pointed out, the lounge is nice with an amazing view and great snacks but the staff there are really keed to push the alcoholic drinks which, as it turns out, are not only chargeable but very expensive ($6 plus tax for a bottle or beer which arrives with a slip asking for a tip).

Our room has not been cleaned even though we left it before 9am and didn't return until 3pm. When I called down about this I couldn't get an answer on the phone so I had to go down to the front desk where I was told I would have to wait a while for a room clean...since we wanted to nap we will just have to have it cleaned while we're at dinner this evening. Pretty poor.

I emailed the "chief experience officer" before departure asking if we could have a room with a view. Got a reply telling us we had been upgraded to the Club Floor, which sounded nice except that the room we are now in is smaller and is the wrong room type (2x queen versus 1x king) than the one booked. Given that we would have had access to the lounge anyway as a Platinum, I'm not sure what the upgrade is.

The shower head is broken and sprays water up across the ceiling. Most of it goes back into the shower tray so no big deal but I can't hang clothes in there to decrease. Again, I called down to report this but got no answer.

The various service errors and annoyances I can live with but the bed is intolerable. We are currently debating where to stay at another hotel tonight even though we've already been charged (prepaid rate).
