This is good advice that I sometimes follow. I always change into black lounge pants and long sleeve black T-shirt once I board. On flights to Europe I always go to sleep immediately after take off (with a little pharmaceutical help). If I waited to change until after take off I lose precious sleeping time. I do not eat or drink alcohol on flights less than 8 or 9 hours so sleep is the # 1 priority.

On flights to Asia I will wait until after take off since the flight is so long. I always think about having to evac a plane in my PJ's but if that's what happens I would hope to be able to regail my friends with the story as I would have survived. "Can you believe I was walking across the Colorada tundra in my PJ's ?? At least I made it !"
