Whilst I understand that some couples like window seats (and without sounding like an angry old man), I just don't get the whole thing of couples sitting one in front of the other if they want to talk to each other - on the other hand, if they aren't going to talk to each other, then great. (A) it means you have to talk round a seat and raise your voice and so doing (B) annoy other pax. I got so annoyed with a couple in 3K/4K talking when coming back from Mex that I moved from 4F where I was sat next to my girlfriend to the front of the nose. If couples are going to talk they should go in 5 or 4 E/F or 1A/K that is unless there aren't many pax onboard or indeed I am not onboard!
