I did a random check on Bali resorts and there are just way too many luxury hotel resorts there. I'm confuse which one to choose. Anymore suggestions?
What about Anatara Seminyak, The Legain, Samaya, Bale and the recently opened St Regis?
The best ocean views are from Amankila and Karma Kandara.
Four Seasons Jimbaran has OK views, but these include the airport across the bay. It's a great resort, but does not have the magic of the Amans, unless maybe you stay in one of the Residences across the road, but then you wouldn't have the views, soooo....
The St Regis resembles a Balinese prison block - a really ugly pile of concrete jostling for position with an even uglier Novotel and Conrad. If you want to pretend you are in North America, then stay here, but if you want a real taste of Bali, then you cannot beat the Amans.
The Legian is tired and Legian beach is OK, but it does not make your heart skip a beat, whereas the beach at Karma Kandara does - it is the most spectacular beach I have ever found in Bali - you could take thousands of photos of it and never get bored, and unlike at Bulgari, you can swim. No trash or anything on the beach here - it is pristine.
Anantara Seminyak is a 4-star. Currently I hear they are having to chop off the top two levels of the hotel as they built it too high. Never heard of the other two you mention.
Yes, there are loads of world-class resorts on Bali - probably more per square foot then anywhere else - but if you stick to your brief of 'Bali's most amazing ocean views' then it has to be Amankila or Karma Kandara.
