According to the OP, the cart was already in the doorway and the woman was already cleaning when the ill-mannered fellow arrived. It was the OP who chose not to enter as he saw her approach with the cart.
Surely you're not suggesting that attendants should defer to every customer who enters once the cleaning process has started?
