I am guessing that you booked _from_ AMS _to_ JFK (RT) and not the reverse that I am planning. Did you look at the fares on the www.lavion.com website?

Looking at the site now (and choosing arbitrary dates in July of out July 1 and retirn July 10), the Europe origination is $57.50 higher than the US origination, but on the britishairways.com website, the US origination fare is $594 higher (than on lavion.com) and the Europe origination is $360 higher.

So, booking on BA and paying $1594 (versus $1000 on lavion.com) is a high price to pay to end up getting WT with a connection!

And "giving them hell" won't accomplish anything if there are no seats to give! (I will be in a party of four).

It's not an easy decision to make.
