I'd think the worst-case scenario is that they will stop operating just over 2 weeks before your flight, they will offer you some inconvenient alternatives, and refusing those you will get a refund. I believe doing that would be according to EU regulations. Booking on ba.com does not give you any more protection than booking it somewhere else IMHO.

In reality however I do not see why they would not simply re-route you via LHR.
