Last year I was on a flight from LAX to PDX and we had an aborted landing. It was quite an interesting experience. I could tell the plane came in "differently" and then all of a sudden the plane started to "return to the sky". The pilot got on the intercom and just mentioned we were going around for another try - and not to worry. Nobody seemed to be freaking out. My husband noticed it from the ground while he was waiting in the cell phone lot.
