I think a lot of people who don't live in the hubs will migrate elsewhere. In my case, they had already been cutting back the routes I fly to the point where it was becoming inconvenient. This event came at the moment I was rethinking things, so the decision, regardless of what they do, has been easy. That does not mitigate the hard feelings, though. What they did, how they did it, and the things they are trying to do to the program,are overkill.The writing is on the wall. As Joe Sharkey, in his weekly column in the New York Times, paraphrased one industry observer
,"the companies think this is like the military, and spend a lot of time issuing orders. They have to understand it's not Parris Island". Regardless of outcome, it will cost them on the margin.
