Hi,
I'm new to the forum, but have some questions about continental. I travel to India about every 1-2 years, and am interested in the direct flight from Newark to Mumbai on Continental. I'm not interested in any of the direct flights on other airlines, but I would like to upgrade to Business class. Right now, I have a British Airways credit card, and get points through that. On the BA site, its very easy to book and upgrade online. However, the flights always go through Heathrow, which I would like to avoid. The continental website doesn't seem to allow this option to book and upgrade online. First, I was wondering what is the chance of getting an upgrade (by using miles to upgrade) on Continental on this direct flight to India (in a busy season-Dec. to January). Second, is it worth it to get the continental mastercard and which one (I would prefer not to get the one that costs $375). I do not fly a lot, or frequently, so I wouldn't get miles that way, so the only way to get miles is through a credit card. I do have a starwood amex card and know I can transfer points to continental that way. Is it worth getting the continental card? I appreciate any help with these questions. Thanks.
