Here's my reservation about themed restaurants: restaurant chains.

My only issue with a themed restaurant has been when a themed restaurant, from a chain, pushes out/closes excellent local restaurants.

My case in point: a local (formerly fun & cosy, character pub) restuant/pub in Dublin.

Formerly housing a TGI Fridays - that's fine.
Now the chain has closed/remodelled the old pub into a TGIF bar, complete with cheesy staff cowboy outfits.

No more quiet pub - and they close the bar at 10PM... That's starting time for many people!

[I'm all for unusual restaurants - but hate it when my local becomes part of a really cheesy theme chain. ]
