I don't think there are any airlines out there selling open return fares anymore, certainly not with any discounts applied, even for a bereavement fare. Iberia is selling a $675 r/t fare for a Friday departure right now which isn't horrible and you can probably either pay a change fee to change the return date if you guess one that you aren't going to keep or throw away the return and find a similar ticket to get home.
