I am trying to price out a trip to the West Coast for a cruise. Unfortunately, the ones that I am looking offer one-way sailings (begins in Vancouver and ends near Anchorage). I am finding that airfare to Seattle is reasonable but another 4-5 hr drive is not what we want to do to get to Vancouver. We are considering Bellingham, WA as an alternate.

My airports of choice would be ORF-YVR and ANC-ORF but I am flexible with any airport within 200 miles of ORF. I have excellent credit and have been considering opening an Alaskan Airline credit card for the bonus 25,000 miles. But I think I read somewhere that the awards are only for RT flights. Would this be helpful at all? We have a few thousands points spread out over 4 or 5different airlines but nothing substantial enough to put together an award. Any suggestions or ideas?
