I've been a Centurion cardmember since the program began in the US in 1999. I know many things have changed, but please help me remember something.

Didn't the Extended Warranty program (ex Buyers Assurance) have special rules for Centurions? As I remember it, if the manufacturer gave a 1 year warranty on a product, regular AMEX cardmembers got 1 additional year, and Centurions got 3 additional years. Was that right?

Because now AMEX is saying Centurions only get 3 additional years if the manufacturers warranty is 3 years.

I spoke with a CS supervisor in FLL, and she initially agreed with my interpretation of the program, but later recanted. She made it right, but also sent me the printed policy which makes no reference to different rules for Centurion members.

Was it always like this? Richard?
