The reason I thought the double miles was still in effect was because American Express is still advertising it here http://www201.americanexpress.com/ap...6134100372/0/n! I did some more looking around and see that it's true this is no longer the case. I wonder why they are still advertising it that way? Oh well. I'll check out the SPG stuff. I've typically been a Hilton guy because my company seems to prefer Hilton and Marriott for some reason.

Maybe I'll check out Southwest out of DTW. They at least treat you right. The only problem is that since DTW is a hub for Northwest the flight availability is always much better through them.
