I'm planning on attending a performance at the Boca Raton campus on a Saturday night in March. I've spent some time down there, but not recently, so have lost any familiarity I ever had. I don't have happy memories of driving in Florida, particularly on I-95 and particularly at night, so would prefer to stay closer to that venue. It looks like there's a Marriott close by, but they want $300 for the night, which seems rather pricey for Marriott quality, at least in the US. Any other suggestions? (I think I stayed at a Radisson on or near Glades Road--in the same complex as Pete's IIRC--in the mid 90's, but it's either gone or been rebranded. Please do NOT suggest the Boca Raton Resort and Club, which I absolutely hated.)
I'll want to be at a performance the next afternoon at the Broward Center, so would prefer staying somewhere south, rather than north, if Boca itself is devoid of reasonable possibilities. I would, however, be willing to go as far north as Delray Beach.
Or should I just grit my teeth and drive down to Fort Lauderdale that night on the theory that the traffic will probably be worse the next morning?
