HKG security policy for liquid medication?

Hi- I have a trip tomorrow that connects me from LAX thru HKG and onto KHH. I've gotten over a cold (thankfully) but this lingering cough requires prescription medication (cough syrup) exceeding 100ml. I know the security @ LAX will not be a problem since it has my name printed on it. I saw brief mention of this on CX website but it didn't specifically say if >100ml would be an issue. Will I have this problem during the transfer screening process @ HKG? I'd normally just check this in, but I still need to take this thing every 6 hrs or so until this cough goes away. Thx
