I've stayed at a number of HPs both prior when they used to be Amerisuites and post when they became HP's, most recent comparisons are in Secaucus and Vegas.

I disagree that they put lipstick on a pig. If they did, they've also done a pretty good facelift. The structure was perfect for this. I love the rooms because they are super spacious, value for money, the TV's are awesome, the bed's (i believe they are Sealy) are amazing. I have absolutely no qualms with them, the old beds were pretty bad, but these new ones are great. I like the new toiletries they use, the only downsides are the loss of the freebie waffles and hot foods in the breakfast area, some have lost their kitchen type facilities in the rooms, but there are suttlieties that make up for all this like the enhanced toiletries, free apples in reception, overall nicer look and feel ;-)
