I've flown AF using DL miles multiple times. The AF website won't always let you pull up the record, but never had any problem in the airport itself. No, I don't know why. That said, just bring your printed itinerary and record locator. When I checked in with AF, they just asked what flight # I was on, and checked me in. I was flying AF in J FCO -- CDG -- PHL.
