Oh and dont forget that an Phillipino / Indonesians idea of hand luggage is a sack full of his worldly belongings including his tool kit and you try explaining to him that you are trying to get to the front because you are in busness class and they will look at you like you just came off another planet. In their minds they just spend a greater % of their anual income on a ticket than you did and its their right to get on before you do.
I've always found it amusing when people start falling in line (most of the time) once someone gets on the phone to make the announcement. I remember flying out of Manila one time and the girl on the counter repeated "Again THIS is not your boarding call!" like 5 times...still didn't work.
What I normally do is I either board first or last...I either wait near the gate and present by boarding pass (business class of course) and get on the plane...if not just stay in the lounge and wait for the final boarding call.
