So this thread is now 30 pages long and after reviewing the last several, I didn't see my question clearly addressed though the above reply came close.

If I'm flying LAX-FRA-JNB, do I need 2 SWUs for each direction, i.e. 1 for LAX-FRA and 1 for FRA-JNB?

On UA, a similar itinerary would only require 1 SWU, right? e.g. LHR-LAX-SYD.

Any one know for sure?
