I just looked into this, and a merchant is prohibited by MC to impose a maximum spending limit. So I will likely negotiate a purchase price and present my MC. If the dealer balks, I will have a copy of the MC merchant agreement on hand. If the dealer still balks, I will put MC on the line and the dealer will find that he will be responsible to pay MC fines for noncompliance.
