Actually, the AC is only close to flights leaving from the satellite gates - and I haven't had an AA fliight out of the satellite gates since AA stopped flying the 777 from DFW circa 2003. You have to walk across the sky-bridge type thing to get to the AC and back again to get to the gates that AA typically uses.
