Isn't there a fairly similar thread as this from last May or so?

And within a day of that thread claiming a change in compensation policy, we walked off with 2x $400 for a bump on IAD-LAX, along with confirmed seats on IAD-NRT in full C (with COS bonus), rather than being waitlisted.

This is UA. Someone within the company will tell you anything you want (or don't want) to hear. It's your job to determine whether to believe it, or call back for a better story............

Now this might be reasonable. I've had a terrible time getting T&C's out of DEN for a couple of years. Certain stations are usually more adamant than other's about interpreting policies.

The interesting aspect is that UA is now compensating GA's for getting flights out on time. If they can't get volunteers in a timely fashion, and it delays a flight, their compensation will go down. If I know UA employees well, I'm betting that they'll care a LOT more about lining their own pockets with potential bonuses than saving the company money by giving out only DBC FREE's. So if UA wants them to follow this policy, they better come up with an incentive system for the GA!
