Music on aircraft - your views?

On boarding a 07:00 Jet Airways flight from BOM to DEL this morning I was a little surprised to be greeted by jazz version of Walking in a winter wonderland followed by that all time Wham classic, Last Christmas - only in India I thought when the temperature outside was already in the high 20's and it was late January

Jet also have a habit of playing music on board very loudly with about at least 20 minutes to go before landing, which makes it very difficult to concentrate on reading.

Just wondered what others views on this are as I can't seem to recall ever noticing the music on BA flights with the exception of the music they used to use (and still do?) in their television adverts.

One final slightly OT point, being used to the delights of the BA "breakfast panini" being handed a breakfast menu that lists the following really makes you appreciate the differences in domestic travel between airlines/countries.
