Just about any carrier will give you a credit for the difference, AFTER their $150 or $200 re-ticketing/change fee! So rarely worth bothering with.

I'd just do as a previous poster suggested and stop checking fares, unless you are going to call in a request that you pay more in the event the fare goes up!
