I don't think it's anywhere near business as usual on the South African routes, judging by my recent success at getting a 2-4-1 in F at 6 weeks' notice, and a couple of W -> J MFUs at 6 months' notice. Until 2009, I'd never really thought that award travel on these routes would have ever been a serious possibility.
