well it was still cheap ish at 1.6 a few years ago, about 2003 I think, in the intervening years it has been laughably cheap so I guess its just a matter of thinking a bit about what the cost is, I had $1=68p written on my wallet about 3 places last time I went to remind me that it wasnt quite the same
