Turn off the ON DEMAND feature and leave the system and thus the reading lights live until the aircraft is at the gate, then do the complete shut down. Works in my mind. The reading lights are definitely part of the Thales system, and yes the glitches are infuriating. I would personally rather have the light than the video system. The xm763 is particularly problematic and a classic example of why fix something that isn't broken. I hope that word gets around and you aren't left in the dark for those last forty minutes on your next flights.
