Our daughter is also 14 months and we fly out of YXU too.

We're shortly going YXU-YYZ-MCO in J, but many times my wife has gone on WestJet alone with her. They will pre-board you and if possible, they will give you an empty seat (not if the plane is full though). They often put children together to keep the noise in one area of the plane

My wife has reported good experiences on WestJet, but a five-month old is a lot easier than a toddler... we hope she's not too worked up on the flight. Our plan is to try to tire her out before the flight so she sleeps at least part of the way.
