FWIW, Dell's Lattitude notebooks can be ordered with both a DC car-style aa compatible input/cord and a regular 110v AC input/cord using the same power block. If you know someone with WPD access, you can order an emPower cord that can be swapped for the car style, thereby giving you all three options.
