I'm looking to spend a few night in Seattle in May prior to a cruise leaving out of Vancouver. Don't really care about anything fancy, but I want safe and clean. It would be nice to be in walking distance to some of the sites, but I'm not too surprised to see that downtown hotels around Pioneer Square and Pike Place are a little pricey. A couple of Best Westerns seem pretty reasonable-- One is right by Seattle Center, and my impression is that it's a safe, active area but can also be a little loud. The other is across from Denny Park. Does anyone know what that area is like, or have any other tips?
