If you are asking too early then you have to know that the aircraft assignement can change especially at the hubs. The answer is "yes" a res agent can find out what fin is assigned to your flight and where it's coming from. This information is generally only know day of flight or sometimes day prior.
In my case, I asked the question 1/2 hr before the flight arrived at LAS from YYC, and about 1.5 hrs before it was supposed to depart to YVR. The reason I asked, is that the information was not posted on the TV monitors in the gate area of Terminal 2 around that time, and because I could not see any gate agents (to whom I could make that query) at any of the 3 gates which AC uses in LAS.
