Whether you want to be ageist or not, your comments certainly prove that you are. I don't know where you got the idea that younger crew are necessarily more physically capable than an older crew, but that type of generalization is foolish.
Too bad you weren't around the day my 55-year-old mother handled more hay bales than the combined efforts of two high school boys. Had you been there, you might have been forced to rethink your position on the limitations of age.
