I can hear the northbound Coast Starlight every weekday morning from my office in Burbank (and can see it if I stand up to look over my cubicle walls). I'd estimate that it's on time at that point over 95% of the time. Granted, that's even before its first stop en route, but it's an indication of the fact that it does almost always get out of L.A. as scheduled.
