What happens if you no-show for an award night?
I have an one night award at an IC booked where the cancellation policy says:
Early Departure Fee: 350.00 USD
Canceling your reservation after 6:00 PM (local hotel time) on <the day before your arrival>, or failing to show, will result in a charge equal to the first night's stay per room to your credit card. Taxes may apply. Failing to call or show before check-out time after the first night of a reservation will result in cancellation of the remainder of your reservation.
Supposing my travel plans get disrupted and I don't make it. I would have thought that meant I just lost the 40,000 points I paid for the room. Am I wrong to think so? And what's with the "early departure fee"!? Or are these merely symptoms of an inadequate IT booking system?
