I modified Seolmanjr's email to match my situation- I should have done this last year before my TLV flight.
I sent this Tuesday along with a scan of my 08 Mileage Plus card and a copy-paste of the past year's mileage on UA and US:
I am writing to request a Gold elite status match on Continental for the coming year. I am currently Premiere Executive on United, but I would like to switch all of my business over to Continental since I am unhappy with the changes at United, as well as them pulling out of both airports I now use, PBI and FLL. Last year, after moving to Florida and testing Continental's service, I was one short roundtrip away from Elite status. I have really enjoyed Continental's service, and would like to continue to use it. All Continental and United account details are below and a copy of my annual activity from United as well as a copy of my United Mileage Plus card are attached. While I have requalified through Feb 2010, my new card has not arrived yet.
United Mileage Plus #: *********
OnePass #: *******
I was upgraded to Gold status this morning. Still haven't received an email about it, though.
EDIT:Just got the email!
Dear Mr. ******:
Thank you for contacting the OnePass Service Center.
We have received and processed your request for an Other Airline Match and it is my pleasure to inform you that your request for Gold Elite status has been granted. Until your Elite card arrives, you may print your Elite card online. Please visit
www.continental.com and from the “My Account” page, click “Print Duplicate OnePass Card.”
To maintain your Elite status in the future, you will be required to fly the necessary miles or points. Please visit our website:
http://www.continental.com/web/en-US...e/default.aspx for complete details about the Elite program.
We realize you have a choice of airline carriers and are pleased you decided to choose Continental Airlines and the OnePass program as your airline.
