Um...for this 1 person a 2 pounder at the very least would be enough. My fave time for lobster is during baseball season, when I can steam a lobster at home and crack and eat it while watching the Sox on TV
Don’t worry, you won’t need to reach your hands into the tank to select your lobster! The fishmonger will fetch your choice for you.
Be sure to ask for some rockweed (=kelp) packed in with your live lobster to keep it calm during transit and storage. I've also used rockweed during steaming to introduce some seawater to the mix, though this process can be messy when you clean the steamer pot.
