At the risk of stoking the fire, surely you cannot be serious asking this question?

The look from the cabin crew member, plus this entire thread, could have been easily avoided if you'd used common courtesy and simply asked said cabin crew if it would be OK to take some nibbles down to your mates in Y.

I've never had a reasonable request turned down regardless of which cabin I have travelled in. Whether or not what you did was unreasonable appears to be a matter for debate. What I think was questionable was the way you did it, as seems to be a common response from other FTers.
