Yes, the whole thing is ridiculous.

For anyone reading this who hasn't flown BA long haul one would think that the Y pax were all sitting their padlocked to their seats starving. As a regular BA Y passenger myself I can assure them this is not the case.
We get wined and dined and are allowed to help ourself to snacks from the galley if we should feel peckish.
Personally I wouldn't thank any CW pax who braved the trip through the baying crowds just to bring me a bit of fruit and a bag of nibbles.
