As I suspected, I was gifted platinum with only 68 nights this year, but I didn't find out until today. MR was waiting to see, no doubt, if some late posting stays might come along that would have pushed me over the edge of 75 without having to gift me the status.

For those curious about my stay pattern, I had 68 nights this year, 93 in 2007, 151 in 2006 and 76 in 2005. Prior to that I don't have the specific numbers, but was Platinum in 2000, 2001 and 2002 as well. MR was nice enough to not drop me down to Gold in 2003 and 2004, even though I had a very limited number of nights in either year (I think I did 15 nights in 2004). 2005 I was dropped to Gold, but bumped back up to Platinum when by the time I had booked my 3rd stay in 2005.

Cheers,
Greg
