They are normally crammed together with the other advance purchases (often away from buffet car etc) leaving more space for higher fare tickets in other carriages. Hmmm. Nothing like that fits with any of my experience!
Further, AFAIK, a seat-reservation is a seat-reservation with no variation in its nature from the type of ticket. I've certainly been able to get them anywhere I wanted with any ticket type.
