Please, please, please... Can you please stop using the word "taxes" when you talk about these charges. Taxes are levied by governments, not companies, and what everyone is complaining about are the fuel surcharges that AE charges. In fact, if you were book a flight from the US into Canada and back, the only actual tax would be a few pennies GST on the Canadian airport fee. I humbly suggest that you seriously consider editing the title of this thread to read "AE reduces the Fuel Surcharge on award tickets". Otherwise your thread is completely misleading.
