You can also take a bus (NJ Transit or the jitney) to JFK Blvd at the top of the Palisades in NJ. There's a park that runs from Hamilton Ave in Weehauken (across from 46th Street in Manhattan) to about 50th Street in Union City (across from 59th Street in Manhattan). It's really quite spectacular at night.
