Only as long as your child is >15 years old. Children (<15yr) are NOT allowed in the exit rows.
It can be quite a pain when folks select the exit row who have young children. Happened on flight from MCO to me. They delayed the flight ~20 minutes trying to reseat these three (parents + kid) together in one row. Problem was nearly entire flight had kids, too.
